The systems were the forerunners of the hip-hop soundclashes And dub and paved the way for electronic Djs to take their sounds To halls and raves. It was and remains one of the mightiest Sounds to roll over punters with a bass that can make your teeth Rattle and chest thud ,so why would one of the coolest sounds Around ,Jah Trinity Outernational SoundSystem be based in Adelaide. "Adelaide is a lot like my hometown of Gloucester in South- II'est England. "Explains Milton Naphtali, founding member of the system. "The audience may be smaller than Sydney or Melbourne.but there is room to move here,and the people are passionate about the sound. Since emigrating 18 mnths ago .Naphtali has been slowly but surely Building his reputation.and now has a residency at the Swing Cat Club And plays regularly in other clubs round lown.His passion is with the Sound of ROOTS REGGAE, the mighty JAH sound, but his interest goes Beyond spinning discs and making people dance. We first started out As Lord Demonstrator in 1981 we built the system from the ground up. We had to make a portable system that was capable of traveling as well As putting out a holy bass so I started making speakers.lt is something That I have continued to do.and streamline the boxes so outfits can Rely on them and present a sound that is quite different to the one Heard in clubs or even raves". "Lord Demonstrator evolved into JAH Trinity and while other soundsystems got on the bandwagon of Conscious reggae and then followed reggae fashionable taste cycles Naphtali and crew have stuck with the Rastafari sound .believing that It is of crucial importance to spread the word of peace Jove and happiness The word TRINITY makes reference to Ha He Selassie. The TRINITY is a Holy concept in Rastafari.in fact the name Haile Selassie . the Negus of Ethiopia means the Might of the Trinity and there arc many biblical References to it. "By this time Jah Trinity also had 3 members.Naphtali s Brother Terry and Raf, so the term lent extra significance.
